ABOUT ME
My experience as a lecturer in Hispanic Studies at four UK universities provides me with considerable expertise in the translation of Spanish, Portuguese, French and Galician into English across diverse fields, above all: legal, comercial, tourism, medical, pharmaceutical technical, financial services energy, literatura and culture.
I have taught Translation Studies at the university level and contributed to the design of a Masters in Translation Studies. I am an award-winning literary translator (PEN, Ostana) and work regularly in a broad range of fields in my language combinations.
In the field of literary translation, I received an English PEN Translates Award for my translation of Eva Moreda’s A Veiga é como un tempo distinto (2011), published as Home is Like a Different Time by Francis Boutle (London, 2019) and an Ostana Prize (Scritture in lingua madre) for my work in translating Galician literature into English. I have translated poetry, fiction and screenplays in Galician, Spanish and Portuguese.
